AUTOMATICA.IT 2021 workshop gathers together Professors and Researchers from Italian Universities and Research Institutions to share researches in all areas of Control Systems and their applications.
The workshop will be held on September 8-9-10, 2021, in virtual mode due to the Covid-19 emergency.
AUTOMATICA.IT 2021 program will be scheduled in two days and will include oral presentations delivered remotely by means of the Zoom platform.
The first day of the meeting will be devoted to presentations, each of 10 minutes in a single track, focusing on recent research results or synthetic summaries of ongoing research activities and projects. Research groups are invited to encourage and support the active participation of young researchers, post-docs, and Ph.D. students.
The deadline for the submission is on July 23 th, 2021.
Contributions will be selected by the Program Committee and the Awards Committee will award the two best presentations.
The second day of the workshop will be devoted to the award ceremony, panel discussions on selected topics of interest to the Community, and the annual meeting of SIDRA.

PAPER SUBMISSION

The submission of contributions can be made through EasyChair, during the submission select one of the following topics:
  • Analysis, identification and control;
  • Robotics and automotive;
  • Networked systems;
  • Applications in control engineering.
The opening and closing dates for submitting contributions are set respectively to June 25th, 2021 (opening date) and July 23th, 2021 (closing date). English will be the official language for the submission. The italian language will be generally used during the sessions, except for foreigner contributions.

The slides of the presentations will be uploaded on the website of the conference.

Contributions consist of an extended abstract of at most 2 pages (free format) including figures and references.
Contributions should not be intended as original and unpublished works but instead as concise reports, accessible to the whole community, of individual research lines or by small groups, developed in the last two or three years. Contributions could also be devoted to summarize the results of recently concluded, or ongoing, research projects as well as to illustrate specific experimental application of theoretical results.
Contributions will be evaluated by a Program Committee on the basis of scientific value criterion.

AWARDS
As usual, SIDRA will assign an award to the two best contributions presented at the workshop. Contributions will be evaluated by the Award Committee based on their theoretical and application value, as well as on the quality of the presentation.

JOIN THE EVENT

The AUTOMATICA.IT 2021 congress will take place in virtual mode by the Zoom platform. In accordance with the program, on September 8th and 9th two scientific parallel sessions will be scheduled in the virtual rooms. The Stanza 1 and Stanza 2 will host the conference sessions, see the Program at Glance.

The Round table, the award ceremony, and the SIDRA annual meeting will be held on September 10th in Stanza 1.

Participation is free of charge. To participate, it is requested to:
- Download and install Zoom on your own computer or mobile device [DOWNLOAD ZOOM];
- Sign-in to Zoom with a personal account or create a new one [FREE SIGN-UP].

TO PARTECIPATE
The participant can play one of the following roles:
- Attendee: Attendees is a simple listener. S/he can comment in the public chat or ask for the floor through the “Chat” channel. Participants that want to pose a question to the speaker will write in the “Chat” and the Chair/Co-Chair will schedule the questions order and time.
- Panelist: The Chair/Co-Chair and speakers of a session will play the role Panelist for that session, then will be downgraded to Attendees. A Panelist has the privilege of being able to share its voice, screen, or multi-media contents from their own devices.

The sessions will be scheduled as follows:
- 15 min before the session – The Technical staff opens the virtual room.
- 10 min before the session – The session Chair/Co-Chair and speakers must access to the room hosting the session. Speakers will declare into the “Chat” channel their role in order to be given the “Panelist” privileges.
- Beginning of the session – All participants are invited to turn off their camera except for the session Chair/Co-Chair who introduces the session and the speakers.
- Presentation of the contribution in the scientific sessions (8 min)– The speaker will have to activate the camera and microphone, share the slides and start the presentation.
- Discussions at the end of the first presentation (2 min) – The Chair turns his/her camera on and starts the discussion. Attendees that want to pose a question to the speaker will write in the “Chat” channel that they intend to ask something. The discussion should end accordingly to the program schedule before the time indicated for the next presentation.

SIDRA ANNUAL MEETING
During the assembly all participants have the possibility to ask by the chat the panelist privileges to activate their own microphone and webcam, share their audio and video as well as multi-media content, and take the floor by participating in the ongoing discussion.
